He is the owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks co-owner of 2929 Entertainment and chairman of the AXS TV. He is also one of the main shark investors on the ABC reality television series, Shark Tank. In 2011, Cuban wrote an e-book How to Win at the Sport of Business in which he chronicles his life experiences in business and sports.

Business career

In 1982 Cuban moved to Dallas Texas, where he first found work as a bartender and then as a salesperson for Your Business Software one of the earliest PC software retailers in Dallas. He was fired less than a year later after meeting with a client to procure new business instead of opening the store.

Cuban started his own company, MicroSolutions with support from his previous customers from Your Business Software. MicroSolutions was initially a system integrator and software reseller. The company was an early proponent of technologies such as Carbon Copy Lotus Notes and CompuServe. One of the company’s largest clients was Perot Systems.

In 1990 Cuban sold MicroSolutions to CompuServe—then a subsidiary of Block—for 6 million. He made approximately  million after taxes on the deal.

Adeline Virginia Woolf 25 January 1882 – 28 March 1941 was an English writer and one of the foremost modernists of the twentieth century.

During the interwar period, Woolf was a significant figure in London literary society and a central figure in the influential Bloomsbury Group of intellectuals. Her best-known works include the novels Mrs Dalloway To the Lighthouse and Orlando and the book-length essay A Room of One’s Own with its dictum, A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction.

Woolf suffered from severe bouts of mental illness throughout her life and took her own life by drowning in 1941 at the age of 59.

Geoffrey Chaucer

London, United Kingdom: Geoffrey Chaucer 25 October 1400 known as the Father of English literature is widely considered the greatest English poet of the Middle Ages and was the first poet to be buried in Poets’ Corner of Westminster Abbey.

While he achieved fame during his lifetime as an author philosopher and astronomer composing a scientific treatise on the astrolabe for his ten-year-old son Lewis Chaucer also maintained an active career in the civil service as a bureaucrat courtier and diplomat. Among his many works are The Book of the Duchess The House of Fame The Legend of Good Women and Troilus and Criseyde. He is best known today for The Canterbury Tales.

Chaucer work was crucial in legitimizing the literary use of the Middle English vernacular at a time when the dominant literary languages in England were French and Latin.

In 2008, the Government of India awarded Oberoi with the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honour in recognition of his exceptional service to the country.Popularly known as Biki in 2002 he took over as the Chairman of Limited with the death of Mohan Singh Oberoi his father and the founding chairman of The Oberoi group and remained  Ltd until 2013.

Oberoi was educated in St. Paul School Darjeeling, India, and later the United Kingdom and Switzerland. He served as a Director of Jet Airways India Limited since March 29, 2004. Oberoi is a graduate in Hotel Management from Lausanne, Switzerland.In 2010 he was recognised as the Corporate Hotelier of the World by Hotels magazine

He has a son, Vikram of  and daughter Natasha, who is married and lives in Australia. At 85 he continues to live at the  Oberoi  Farms farmhouse -cum-office on the outskirts of Delhi.

Shahnaz Husain is the daughter of the late Justice Nasirullah Beg a former Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court. Her grandfather Justice Samiullah Beg was a prominent Muslim politician of the United Provinces who later served as Chief Justice of the Hyderabad High Court. Her uncle, Mirza Hameedullah Beg was a former Chief Justice of India who controversially superseded Justice H.R. Khanna to the post. She was educated at La Martiniere Lucknow.

In a recent interview for Harvard Business School Creating Emerging Markets project, Husain describes the origins growth and development of her business explaining how her innovative approach to beauty made her products a global success.

Wayne Mark Rooney born 24 October 1985 is an English professional footballer who plays for and captains both Manchester United and the England national team. He has played much of his career as a forward, but he has also been used in various midfield roles. He is the highest goal scorer for Manchester United.

Aged nine, Rooney joined the youth team of Everton, for whom he made his professional debut in 2002 at the age of 16. He spent two seasons at the Merseyside club, before moving to Manchester United for 25.6 million in the 2004 summer transfer window. Since then, with Rooney in the team, United have won the Premier League five times, the Champions League once the Club World Cup once, the  Community Shield four times the Football League Cup twice and the  Cup once. In September 2013 Rooney scored his 200th goal for Manchester United. He is currently on 250 goals in all competitions which makes him the club’s top goalscorer of all time. His 195 Premier League goals make him the competition’s second top scorer of all time, behind Alan Shearer. Rooney holds the record for most goals for one club in the Premier League, with 180 for Manchester United.

He is the founder and majority shareholder of Icahn Enterprises, a diversified conglomerate holding company based in New York City formerly known as American Real Estate Partners. He is also Chairman of Federal-Mogul, an American developer, manufacturer and supplier of powertrain components and vehicle safety products. In the 1980s Icahn developed a reputation as a corporate raider after profiting from the hostile takeover and asset stripping of the American airline .

Icahn has held substantial or controlling positions in many corporations, including Nabisco,Texaco, Phillips Petroleum, Western Union, Gulf & Western, Viacom, Uniroyal, Dan River, Marshall Field Culligan and Samsonite American Can, Marvel Comics, Revlon, Imclone, Federal-Mogul, Fairmont Hotels, Blockbuster, Kerr-McGee,Time Warner, Netflix, Motorola, and Herbalife.

On December 21, 2016, it was announced that Icahn would serve as Special Advisor to the President on Regulatory Reform under President Donald Trump.

Amrish Puri

He worked with notable playwrights of the time, such as Satyadev Dubey and Girish Karnad. He is remembered for playing iconic negative roles in Hindi cinema as well as other Indian and international film industries. To Indian audiences he is the most remembered for his role as Mogambo in Shekhar Kapur’s Hindi film Mr. India 1987 and to Western audiences he is best known as Mola Ram in Steven Spielberg’s Hollywood film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 1984. Puri has won three Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actor.

Julia Sweeney

She is known for her role as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and for her autobiographical solo shows. She played Mrs. Keeper in the film Stuart Little and voiced Brittany in Father of the Pride.

In 1988 while still working as an accountant Sweeney enrolled in classes with the improvisational comedy troupe The Groundlings eventually being selected to be part of the troupe Sunday Company. It was at The Groundlings that she began to develop characters, which she would later bring to the stage, film, and television. They include Mea Culpa, the title character of Mea Big Apology co-written by then-husband Stephen Hibbert which won the Best Written Play Award from L.A. Weekly in 1988 and has been developed by Sweeney in collaboration with Jim Emerson into a screenplay and the androgynous Pat, whose impossible-to-determine gender was the basis for Sweeney popular It’s Pat skits on Saturday Night Live, and later for her feature film of the same name, which never received a national release but has since gathered a small cult following.

In 1992 she also worked with the rock band Ugly Kid Joe performing in the music video for their hit Neighbor and contributing introductory audio to two tracks, Goddamn Devil and Everything About You. The latter was on the soundtrack to the Lorne Michaels movie Wayne World.

A noted public figure, Bhagat also writes for columns about youth, career development and current affairs for The Times of India in English and Dainik Bhaskar in Hindi.

Bhagat’s novels have sold over seven million copies. In 2008, The New York Times cited Bhagat as the biggest selling English language novelist in India’s history.

Bhagat’s screenwriting efforts have included the dramedies Kai Po Che 2 States and the action-superhero movie Kick. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay for Kai Po Che at the 59th Filmfare Awards in January 2014.
